Posting Failure

So like most bloggers, I’m rather bad at being consistent and consequently bad at blogging. I need to work on that. It’s easy to read other people’s blogs with my RSS feed reader in Thunderbird, but it’s rather difficult to post as frequently as I’d like to. I think that’s due to the fact that it’s inconvenient at the moment to post the amount of information I’d like to post. My mentality could probably be summed up by saying, “If I’m going to do it, I’m going to do it right, or not at all.” That being said I don’t think I’m going to post very often until I can write myself a system that unifies my online personas and allows me to keep them all updated synonymously.

Ideally this system would allow me to do a little micro-blogging (twitter style) that would display my general thoughts and statuses but display it on my online profile(s) in an unobtrusive manner. Maybe this would be implemented as a small sidebar widget… updated via a command line script? Blogging obviously still would take time to do well. Smaller posts, like reviews on technology, should be made simpler as well. There was a plugin for Firefox that made posting small articles on the fly possible, but I didn’t use it often enough. Maybe flock would be better suited for this kind of thing. I’d also like to experiment with posting code and media. Generally, I’d like to be able to manage my library of non-text/post material easily and present it intuitively. Lastly, it would be awesome if people could navigate different categories/tags easily from the beginning (i.e. strictly technical/religious/philosophic content).

I suppose what I’m really planning on creating is a new website design and style and then post-implementation a tool that manages all of my online data. It should update facebook, this blog, and any other online manifestations of myself available.

Sounds Heavenly.
